Football Equipment Return
As the 2020 Youth Football starts wrapping up for each age group, please remember to return your football helmets and shoulder pads that were provided by Loris Recreation back to the Recreation Office at 311 Heritage Road. The Loris Recreation Office is open from 8a-5p Monday through Friday and our staff will be happy to accept your returns.
The deadline to return football equipment for this season is January 15th, 2021. If you have not returned your football equipment by this date, you will be billed the full replacement cost of all equipment you checked out.
Football Equipment Checkout
Tuesday 9/22 to Thursday 9/24
The Loris Recreation Office will be open for Football Equipment Checkout this week with the following schedule:
- 7&8: Tuesday 9/22 and Wednesday 9/23 until 7pm
- 9&10: Wednesday 9/23 until 7pm
- 11&12: Thursday 9/24 until 7pm
When you bring your child you will be expected to pay your registration fee in full and sign the necessary paperwork BEFORE any equipment can be released to you. Please do your best to bring your child to their assigned date to help us limit the number of people in the Recreation Office at a time. If you have children signed up in multiple age groups, it's okay to bring both children to one day.
Please Note: These scheduled days are for children that are ALREADY registered within the RecDesk program for youth football. Our registration date for youth football has passed and we are no longer accepting registrations.
Any questions may be directed to the Loris Recreation Office at 843-756-9804.
Fall Registration Fees Temporarily Waived
Due to the uncertainty of Fall Sports caused by COVID-19, and to help give our participants more time before committing registration fees to our fall season, we have temporarily waived the registration fees for both youth football and youth cheerleading. Participants may now register without paying a registration fee. Once we get closer to the beginning of our season, participants will be required to pay their registration fees when they check out football equipment or pick up their cheerleading uniform.
Please note: No football equipment or cheerleading jerseys will be given out until registration fees have been collected.
Click the RecDesk Sign-In link above to register for Fall sports before September 4th!

Loris Recreation Update
Is there going to be Baseball and Softball in 2020?
Due to the Coronavirus outbreak and regulations for athletic events passed down from the Governor's office, Loris Recreation will be having baseball and softball in 2020 in a limited fashion. Depending on the age group, participants who already registered for the season prior to the shutdown will be able to participate in a 3-day camp for that age group. Please contact your coach for more information regarding dates and participation.
What does a baseball or softball camp include?
Each age group that has enough players still interested in participating in youth baseball or softball will be able to participate in a 3-day instructional yet competitive camp designed specifically for that age group. The camp will include stations for players to work on strengthening their hitting, throwing and pitching skills, as well as game situation drills that will feel like a real game. During the camp, Loris Recreation will be cooking hot dogs and burgers for campers and we will have plenty of volunteers to assist with the camp. Please contact your coach for specific camp dates and times.
Are the fields at the Loris Sports Complex and Watson Park open to the general public?
Yes, all athletic facilities and parks under the supervision of the Loris Parks, Recreation, & Tourism Department are open to the general public at this time. Please note, it is still the responsibility of members of the community to follow all social distancing guidelines set in place by the South Carolina Governor's Office and South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control while using the facilities. The Recreation Department and the City of Loris will still have the authority to ask community members to leave the facility if they are discovered to not be following the appropriate social distancing guidelines.
If I am not comfortable with my child participating in recreation this season but I've already paid a registration fee, will I be able to receive a refund?
Yes, refunds will be available for individuals who had already paid a registration fee and are no longer interested in participating. Individuals will have to complete a refund request form and turn it in to the Recreation Department or City Hall to receive a refund. Refund request forms may be accessed here.
What about Travel Ball Tournaments?
Travel Ball Tournaments will once again be happening on weekends in Loris. While there may be some scrimmages that occur from 6/6 to 6/15, no official games or tournaments will be held at the Loris Sports Complex or Watson park prior the June 15th, per the guidelines of returning to organized youth sports.
